Spartan Contracting Services, was incorporated in 1991. John has over 25 years
of consulting and construction experience. He is dedicated in every way in helping
you achieve your dream of owning a home, just like he did 21 years ago.
John started his career in home remodeling in 1980 after graduating with Honors in
Power Machine Technology with an AAS degree from Moraine Valley Community
College in Palos Hills, IL. In the past, John has worked for two major construction
companies in the area as their Customer Service Representative and Project
Manager. He also has personal experience as a carpenter both trim and framing, tile
setter and basically is a "jack of all trades".
In 1984, he was employed by a local lender to work as their Project Analyst, which
is where he learned the process of submitting and obtaining VA, FHA, FNMA and
FHLMC project approvals nationwide. While employed by a national lender and
working part time as a remodeling contractor, John was certified by HUD as An
FHA Fee Inspector in 1991. At this time, John opened his own construction
company called:
“Spartan Construction & Design, Inc.,” which is where he began his start in
building new homes.
After several successful years of homebuilding, executing project approvals and
remodeling John became certified in 2000 as an FHA 203(k) Consultant. In the past
year, John has completed over forty FHA 203(k) Work Write-ups.
After several successful years of continuous performance of various construction
jobs, project approvals and FHA 203(k) inspections, John decided to create a
second company called: “Spartan Contracting Services”. This company was
created solely, for the purpose of executing Project Approvals and FHA 203(k)’s.
To this day, Spartan Contracting Services has submitted and received approvals
for over 300 various properties across the country. Also, during his career, John has
served on various committees and has been active in the community too, such as
acting board member in the Home Builders Association of Greater Chicago and
Illinois Mortgage Bankers Association. He has also donated time in the construction
of homes for Habitat for Humanity, volunteered his construction experience for
Boyscouts of America, local churches and most recently was selected by a
contractor to be a part of the rebuilding of a home in Illinois for the ABC Emmy
Award winning show "Extreme Makeover" Home Edition.
Other qualifications for the business are that Spartan Construction & Design, Inc.,
is insured as a contractor and has been building and remodeling homes since 1980.
He stands behind his work and he takes pride in every aspect of his business. In fact
he uses his personal residence as a model home in order to demonstrate the quality
of his work.
